Three-year program

“Expanding the network of social services and increasing the quality of life of people whit disabilities in Šibenik-Knin County”

The Centre for Social Inclusion Šibenik has been continuously implementing three-year programs financed by the Ministry of Labour since 2009.

The last three-year program refers to the period from June 1, 2020. Until May 31, 2023.

Program is financed in the amount of HRK 200.000,00 / EUR 26.544,56 per year. Partners in the three-year program are the City of Šibenik, the City of Vodice and Social Welfare Centre Šibenik.

The general goal is the further expansion of social services, especially in areas that are dislocated from Šibenik as the centre of the county. Provision of services described in the Social Welfare Act in areas such as the city of Vodice, the island of Murter and other smaller areas in Šibenik-Knin County where there are no suitable service providers

Specific goals:

  1. retention of the existing employment service with support and provision of work-occupational activities for the purpose of developing and preserving work habits and skills,
  2. increasing the working capacity of people with disabilities through work-occupational activities in Šibenik,
  3. encouraging the social inclusion of people with disabilities through the activities of the users' club in Vodice,
  4. empowering people with disabilities to live in the community through psychosocial support in the areas of Šibenik, Knin, Vodice, the islands of Murter and Rogoznica
  5. expanding positive communication with the public, local self-government, media, economic and social partners.

The target group is people with disabilities from the area of Šibenik-Knin County.

The social inclusion of people with disabilities and the expansion of the network of social services in the community directly affects the quality of life of all people with disabilities and their families, and in a broader context, by activating people with disabilities, we reduce social benefits from the state.

The program also has an impact on the wider social network (family, extended family, relatives, neighbours, friends, etc.) around persons with disabilities who are direct beneficiaries, because social inclusion, opening up new opportunities for employment and empowerment of persons with disabilities increases the quality of life of all community stakeholders and improve community relations.

Just by empowering them to act proactively in solving unemployment or creating new opportunities, it affects the spread of positive influences among all stakeholders in society, even outside the area where the program is implemented, as well as greater dynamism in the life of the community.
