Work center

The activities of the work centre are carried out as part of the continuous three-year program "Expanding the network of social services and increasing the quality of life of persons with disabilities in the area of ​​Šibenik-Knin County" financed by the Ministry of Labour, Pension System, Family and Social Policy.

The work within the work centre is led by the expert team of Inclusion Šibenik, and direct support during the execution of activities is provided by the coordinator of work activities.

The work centre represents a form of activity for people with disabilities with the aim of maintaining and improving work and work-social skills, increasing work capacities and abilities key to immediate preparation for employment.

Activities are carried out according to the activity plan, through group and individual work within the framework of activities designed on the basis of individual planning. Individual planning is based on interests, abilities and needs (like environmental adaptation), and is determined individually with each member.

The expected impact of working in the work centre is the recognition of one's own work potential, raising the level of self-esteem and self-confidence, above all the realization of all those competencies for which there is personal psychophysical potential.

During 2020 and 2021, 14 users regularly participated in the activities of the work centre, which were joined by users who live outside the city area. A total of 18 users participated in the activities. As part of the work centre, handicrafts and objects of a practical nature are made, computer work and Internet navigation are improved, during which vacancies are searched, as well as resume and job application writing is improved. Likewise, members regularly work on self-advocacy and improving communication skills and presentation skills to employers. In this way, the development of one's own abilities to establish successful positively oriented communication with other people is encouraged.
